Come and join us!
Do you care about the Norfolk countryside? Do you have skills you think you could contribute to the work of CPRE Norfolk? We are always on the look-out for enthusiastic volunteers to help out in various areas of our work. Roles can vary from as straightforward as occasional envelope stuffing to potentially joining our executive as a Trustee.
We have three committees:
1. Vision for Norfolk (V4N) which covers campaigns, planning, water, agriculture, transport, energy, light pollution, biodiversity and more.
2. Events Membership and Communications (EMC) which covers events, fundraising, volunteers, membership, PR, media, youth, profile, awards and more.
3. Finance and General Purposes (FGP) which covers finance, administration, secretarial, governance, compliance, staffing, training and more.
Do you have any experience in planning matters? Have you ever mounted a campaign to protect an area of countryside from damage? Do you have a background in countryside, environmental or transport issues? Have you specialist knowledge with regard to green energy, farming or biodiversity? Or perhaps your background is in journalism, public relations, social media, information technology? Maybe you are an academic or scientist with specialist knowledge you think would contribute to our work. You might have a strong fundraising or events background. Or perhaps you have an excellent business brain, or have spent a career in local government? Maybe you spent years as a teacher or a company secretary? An engineer or an architect? Have a razor-sharp legal mind? If you have any or even none of these but a wish to see the Norfolk countryside protected from overdevelopment then we would like to hear from you.
The committees each meet four times a year in central Norwich plus there are opportunities to contribute to much of our work in between meetings. We are a happy, friendly, supportive team with a wide range of specialist knowledge all working very hard to protect the best of the Norfolk countryside as a precious resource for all. Committee work is varied, very interesting and an opportunity to contribute your skills to our important work and meet a wide variety of interesting people from across Norfolk and beyond.
If you don’t relish sitting on a committee you could volunteer to help out with occasional stewarding at events or a bit of routine office or IT work. You might have some bright ideas for recruiting younger members or would like to help out with organising a fundraising event.
We welcome people of all ages so don’t be shy – drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org or if you prefer to have a chat call us on 01603 761660.
