From The Office

Honorary Secretary

The Trustees are looking for a new Honorary Secretary following the retirement of the previous Honorary Secretary after 10 years.  Key duties of the role include: taking minutes for the charity's quarterly Trustee Meetings; ensuring the correct administration of our Annual General Meeting; and advising staff and Trustees on procedural matters, statutory reporting and charity governance, as required. We are looking for someone with a light touch and a sense of humour who can ensure that the charity fulfils its constitutional requirements without overcomplicating things unnecessarily.  Further details can be downloaded below.  Please apply in writing to the Chairman, James Parry, and send to the office address or to info@cprenorfolk.org.uk

Green Buildings Open Days Stewards

CPRE Norfolk are looking for volunteers to act as stewards during our popular Green Buildings Open Days event, taking place in September.  The Open Days event is a series of guided tours at eco-buildings and energy-efficient homes throughout Norfolk.  Stewards are required to assist the owners of the properties during the tours by marshalling car parks, directing visitors, ensuring signage is in place and acting as a CPRE Norfolk representative on the day.   A short training session will be run for all stewards before the event.  Stewards will not be required to lead the tours, so specialist knowledge of green technologies is not required, although anyone with a general interest in eco-buildings will find this a really enjoyable and interesting experience. Steward will have access to their own transport, be confident in speaking to the public and be trusted to collect money. Please contact Katy Jones, Membership and Events Manager, on 01603 761660 / katyj@cprenorfolk.org.uk for further details.

Events Assistant - Office Based

CPRE Norfolk has an annual calendar of events - From awards ceremonies and panel debates, to guided walks and open gardens.  Help is needed on an ad-hoc basis (perhaps half a day a week every fortnight) with database entry, mailing out letters/invitations, booking catering/wine and helping out at the events themselves (welcoming guests, serving drinks and setting up/packing away).  If you would like to gain some valuable event experience and are willing to turn your hand to anything, then get in touch.  We are looking for someone who is familiar with Excel and Word, has a good attention to detail, is well organised, is confident talking to the public on phone and in person, and can work from their own initiative.

Graphics Designer

This role would suit someone with experience of IT graphics packages, looking to improve their portfolio. Work would be occasional and when needed. There may be no work for some months - it just depends on our activities and the time of the year. For example, in the lead up to an event, a colour poster may need to be designed for advertising. The volunteer would be given a brief of the assignment and would then produce a draft poster from home.  Staff would then give further input until a finished poster was agreed. The volunteer may be asked to liaise directly with a printing company to organise printing and delivery.  The volunteer must be competent in Graphics packages such as Photoshop, Firefox or Illustrator, able to work from their own initiative and have access to their own IT equipment.  Please contact James Frost, Director, on 01603 761660 / jamesf@cprenorfolk.org.uk for further details.
