The National Trust Visitor’s Centre at Sheringham Park

New energy efficient visitor’s centre created from redundant agricultural buildings.

The Cromer Promenade Enhancement Scheme

2.4 million pound project by North Norfolk District Council, under the Cromer Seafront Revitalisation Scheme.

Restoration of the Signal Box at Wolferton Station

Major project at the Royal Station to restore the signal box, including recasting of the floor, replacement of the windows and major brick and carrstone work.

Restoration and Addition to a Cottage and its Outbuildings at Tibenham

Complete restoration of this timber framed building, with central back to back inglenook fireplaces.

A New Ternery Hut on Scolt Head Island

Living accommodation for a summer warden on a sensitive wildlife site off the North Norfolk coast. Ecologically sound design using high levels of insulation, photovoltaics and rainwater recycling.

“Ralphs”, Plumstead

A low-energy ecologically designed timber house in rural surroundings, built in sympathy with its environment. Features include a sedum roof, solar gain and passive ventilation.

“Dragonflies”, Little Snoring

Conversion of an open bay cart-shed on a 17 acre county wildlife site at Little Snoring.

“Cedar House”, North Elmham

A new low energy timber construction house on the banks of the River Wensum. Built on stilts to accommodate flooding.

“The Boathouse”, Gunton Park

A new timber and thatched lakeside pavilion situated by ‘Great Water’, a lake in historic Gunton Park.

The New Energy Efficient Community Centre at Swaffham

Community building designed using a series of articulated volumes clad in timber and coloured to provide an open, friendly and stimulating environment for a range of activities.

Restoration of Downham Market Station

Conversion of redundant station buildings at Downham Market into a café, shop and post office.

“Mulberry Barn”, Langmere

A contemporary house in a rural setting, specifically designed for wheelchair use.

Wells Primary & Nursery School

Imaginative transformation of the school grounds with a wild flower garden, ponds, a woodland walk and a carved wooden gazebo.

Howard Junior School, King’s Lynn

Creation of a multi-sensory garden. Children worked with a resident artist and a landscape gardener for its design.

The Ethel Tipple School, King’s Lynn

Creation of a wildlife garden and an outdoor classroom. Teaching space includes hop-shaded arbors for the children and a central slice of a 300 year old tree trunk which forms a seat for the teacher.

The Norwich Fringe Health Walks

Fifteen short circular walks in and around Norwich aimed at improving health.

“Wherryman’s Way”

A 35 Mile recreational riverside walking & cycling route from Norwich to Great Yarmouth.

Creation and Management of a Large Nature Reserve at Bradfield Hall Farm

A 500 acre farm and nature reserve with five miles of walks in the North Norfolk countryside.

Creation of an Organic Garden and Orchard at The Ecotech Centre

An organic garden and orchard created in the grounds of the Ecotech Centre in Swaffham, paying special attention to landscaping, bio diversity & species management.

Lighting of Waste Recycling Sites in Norfolk by Norfolk County Council

Sensitive use of movement sensors on waste recycling depots across Norfolk.

HIGHLY COMMENDED

Conversion of a Redundant Church Hall to a Holiday Cottage, at Wilby

Conversion of an old church hall to a holiday cottage with a shingled flint tower and an external overhead gallery.
