Light Pollution - working to protect dark sides and dark rural landscapes in Norfolk. Volunteer group meeting bi-monthly at Seething Observatory, South Norfolk.  Our countryside is being increasingly lit up and urbanized and light pollution is spreading from our cities and towns. Its time to take action to promote better lighting from our industry and highways, proper planning guidance on lighting from local authorities and to help remind people what they are missing - the wonder and beauty of the night sky!

Renewable Energy – campaigning to promote positive solutions to climate change.  Volunteers meet bi-monthly at CPRE’s County Office in Norwich, The Greenhouse, itself one of Norfolk’s greenest buildings.  The group has produced a booklet and exhibition entitled ‘Green Buildings in Norfolk’ featuring 21 examples of local renewable energy in action.  It’s time to take the message of renewable energy to the people of Norfolk and make planners, councillors and MPs take notice.

Litter - local campaigning action to clean up Norfolk and prevent the spread of litter and flytipping across the county.  Our Anti Litter Campaigning Group is working with district and county councils to look at fresh ways to tackle the litter problem, while also engaging with community litter picking groups across Norfolk.  Regular litter picking events have been organised and the Group has featured on BBC TV and BBC Radio.  Nationally, the CPRE ‘Stop The Drop’ campaign is being led by Norfolk resident, the author, Bill Bryson.

There are many ways for volunteers to get involved in these campaigns: from attending campaign meetings, undertaking research, preparing media information, organising events or distributing resources. Any volunteers with an interest in these subjects should get in touch.
