Join us as a trustee and help shape the future of Norfolk’s countryside

CPRE Norfolk is looking for new trustees to join us.

We work to protect, enhance and celebrate the countryside across Norfolk – from responding to planning proposals and national policy, to working with communities and supporting local environmental initiatives.

As we look ahead, we want to bring in new people, ideas and perspectives to help shape what comes next.

What does being a trustee involve?

Being a trustee isn’t about being an expert in everything.

It’s about being part of a group of people who care about Norfolk and want to make a positive difference.

You might:
  • Share your ideas and perspective
  • Help guide what we focus on
  • Support projects, campaigns or events
  • Be part of discussions that shape our work

How much time does it take?

We know people are busy, so we’ve made this manageable:

  • Around 1-2 hours per week which can largely be done from home.
  • Attending 3 main meetings per year (the majority of meetings are held online via video conferencing)
  • Opportunities to get involved in smaller discussions if you’d like
  • Flexible ways to contribute depending on your availability
  • Support will be provided

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need to have been a trustee before.

We’d love to hear from you if you:
  • Care about the countryside, nature or local communities
  • Want to make a positive difference
  • Bring a skill, perspective or lived experience that could add something new
  • Are open, collaborative and willing to get involved

We’re particularly keen to hear from people who may not usually see themselves in roles like this.

What you’ll get from it

  • The chance to contribute to meaningful, local work
  • Experience shaping projects, campaigns and ideas
  • The opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team
  • A way to use your skills for something that matters

Not sure if it’s for you?

That’s completely normal.
Many of our trustees started in exactly the same place – interested, but unsure where they might fit.

All trustee positions come with a probationary period so you can make sure the position is right for both you and CPRE Norfolk before making a full commitment.

To become a full trustee, you will also need to be a member of CPRE Norfolk so why not join us as a member now.

Interested? Let’s have a chat

The best place to start is with an informal conversation.

There’s no pressure – just an opportunity to find out more and see if it feels like a good fit.

Email us at info@cprenorfolk.org.uk to get started.

We’re waiting to hear from you.
