Parish Council Alliance

Our Parish Council Alliance enables your parish or town council to engage with us in a really positive way to influence decision makers.

The alliance seeks to protect and enhance Norfolk’s countryside and green spaces for the benefit of all. We do this by campaigning against excessive housing targets in local plans and by asking for a ‘brownfield first’ approach in which the provision of affordable social housing is prioritised.

Sign our pledge

30% of councils across Norfolk, 39% in South Norfolk and Broadland, have already signed the Alliance Pledge asking that housing allocations in existing local plans must be built out before any additional housing sites, proposed for new and emerging plans, can be developed.

In so doing they are joining with us to help prevent suburban sprawl, increased levels of light and noise pollution and traffic congestion.

How you can help

You can help us protect the lovely, tranquil, Norfolk countryside by:

  • Asking your parish council or campaign group to sign the CPRE Norfolk Alliance pledge.
  • Contacting your local MP and your parish or town council highlighting these issues. You can send a message to them directly via the WriteToThem website.
