Bishop's House Open Garden hosted by CPRE Norfolk

A Day to Remember

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Bishop Graham Usher’s gardens, the event attracted nearly 300 visitors from near and far. Guests were treated not only to one of June’s few sunny days, but also to the rare opportunity to explore the stunning private gardens, as the gates were opened for our special cause. From the exquisitely manicured lawns to the enchanting wildflower meadows and kitchen gardens, every section of the garden offered a feast for the senses.

Community Spirit in Full Bloom

The Open Garden event’s success was a testament to the incredible spirit of the volunteers, staff and trustees at CPRE Norfolk. There were talks, children’s activities and games and a variety of stalls from books and plants to artist Georgina Fairhurst, who had a stall selling her fabulous artwork all of which added to the festive atmosphere, while the delicious range of bargain homemade refreshments kept everyone energized throughout the day.

Raising Funds for a Brighter Future

We are thrilled to announce that the event exceeded our fundraising goals, with all proceeds going directly to our charity in protecting and enhancing our rural countryside for future generations.

Spreading Awareness

Beyond the financial success, the Open Garden event played a crucial role in raising awareness about our charity’s mission. Informative displays and interactive sessions educated visitors about the vital work we do. Many attendees expressed newfound appreciation for the issues facing our countryside and a desire to get involved, further strengthening our community network.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A special thank you goes to Bishop Graham and his family who graciously shared their beautiful gardens with us, the staff at the Bishop’s House and of course to the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Looking Ahead

Buoyed by the success of this event, we are more motivated than ever to continue our efforts in supporting rural communities. Plans are already underway for future events, and we look forward to bringing our community together again to celebrate and support our shared goals.
