A Christmas message from the Chairman

It really does feel like 2021 has flown by.

During the year we had high hopes for COP26. We worked with the CPRE network to successfully lobby for a rethink on the proposed changes to planning legislation. Together, we campaigned for better bus transport, published new hedgerow research and got people involved in counting stars to monitor light pollution.

In Norfolk, we celebrated many fantastic local projects through our Awards programme. We played a part in helping to protect sensitive landscapes, spending countless hours responding to consultations on local plans and taking part in debates about the best way to look after our county for everyone.

We have been planning for 2022 and the years following.
Our programme looks at local plans, biodiversity, agriculture & water, the road building programme, housing and transport. We are looking at new ways to engage with young people and with local areas such as West Norfolk. We expect 2022 will be even busier than the year just gone.

The ongoing pandemic continues to be an unwelcome backdrop to our campaigns, and we rely even more on your generosity. Thank you to everyone who has continued with their membership, joined CPRE, has given a gift or supported us by volunteering.

Wishing you all our Best Wishes for this season, and Health and Happiness for 2022.

Chris Dady
Chairman, CPRE Norfolk
