A Christmas message from the Chair of CPRE Norfolk
We have seen many changes this year, not least with the political landscape, but most challenges stay the same.
These include pressures on our open countryside, food production, social housing and the continuing difficulty for many to get onto the housing ladder, the cost of living, our environment, flooding and drought, and the need to decarbonise our energy. We will continue to energetically campaign for solutions that deliver the changes necessary to deal with these issues, whilst ensuring the very best outcomes for our environment and communities.
Particular uncertainties for 2025 include mega solar industrialisation throughout Norfolk on food producing farmland, no sign of any end to the housing crisis, continuing degradation to our environment and further threats to communities from flooding. But rest assured we will continue to work as hard as we can to promote new solutions to all these issues, and your support is much appreciated, indeed vital, to help us succeed – so Thank You.
I wish you all a peaceful and happy Christmas season. And may I recommend a walk in the countryside this Christmas and New Year, a great way to blow away the cobwebs and walk off the Christmas lunch!
