Celebrating Norfolk’s Young Environmental Champions.

The CPRE Norfolk Youth Engagement & Schools Awards are here!

We’re inviting all Norfolk schools and youth groups to join us in celebrating the amazing environmental work already happening and to inspire new projects that connect young people with the countryside, protect biodiversity, and lead the way on sustainability.

This is a free, flexible, and curriculum-aligned programme designed to fit into your school year, whether you run your project for one term or the full academic year.

 

Two Ways to Take Part

Showcase Award

Share an existing environmental or countryside project your school is proud of.

Engagement Award

Launch a new student-led project with support and resources from CPRE Norfolk.

 

Who Can Enter

  • Primary schools
  • Secondary schools
  • Special schools
  • Sixth forms and colleges
  • Youth groups, clubs, and organisations

 

What You’ll Get

  • Recognition in local press, CPRE Norfolk newsletters, and on social media
  • Certificates for all participants
  • The chance to win a fully funded educational day out for a small group or an on-site workshop tailored to your project.
  • Access to our Teacher Resource Pack, filled with project ideas, curriculum links, and tips
  • Optional online Q&A sessions for teachers and leaders

 

Inspiration for Your Project

Projects can be big or small, and creative as you like:

  • Wildlife gardens and pollinator patches
  • Bug hotels, hedgehog homes, bird boxes
  • Tree planting or rewilding spaces
  • Anti-litter campaigns or recycling drives
  • Creative arts inspired by nature
  • Climate assemblies or student environmental podcasts

 

Key Dates

  • September 2025 – Register and start planning
  • Autumn Term – Project planning and idea generation
  • October Mid Term – Registration closes
  • Spring Term – Project delivery and documentation
  • Prior to May Half Term (22nd) – Final submission of entries
  • June – July 2026 – Judging & celebration visits
