CPRE Norfolk plant a memorial tree for Dr Ian Shepherd
CPRE Norfolk planted a silver birch tree in memory of our former trustee and vice-president Dr Ian Shepherd who passed away in July this year.

The tree was planted on Monday 8th December in the Mannington Hall chapel gardens, by kind permission of the Mannington Estate..
The ceremony was attended by CPRE Norfolk representatives, Ian’s widow and their children Caroline and Paul.

CPRE Norfolk vice-president Professor Tim O’Riordan spoke at the ceremony, talking about his many years of friendship with Ian, as well as how Ian’s encyclopaedic knowledge and dedicated work with the River Glaven Conservation Group and CPRE Norfolk would continue to have an impact long into the future.
The memorial plaque placed next to the tree was donated by Ducker’s Funeralcare of Aylsham.
