CPRE Norfolk’s 2024 Annual Lecture was ‘Building on our achievements as our centenary approaches’, a fascinating talk by by our esteemed President, Professor Tim O’Riordan, who retired after many years of dedicated service.

This entertaining and informative lecture was held in The Weston Room, at Norwich Cathedral on Thursday 27th June 2024 and followed the CPRE Norfolk AGM.

Tim has been an inspirational leader, and we are grateful for the tremendous impact he has had on our organization and the community. His talk was a unique opportunity to hear about the journey of our charity from his perspective and the vision he leaves for us to carry forward.

Presentation

Following the lecture a presentation was made to the retiring President to thank him for his 24 years of service.

About Professor Tim O’Riordan

Tim O'Riordan, PresidentProfessor Tim O’Riordan OBE is an Emeritus Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. He received an OBE in 2010, is a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Norfolk, served as Sheriff of Norwich (2009-10), and is a Fellow of the British Academy.

Tim holds an MA in Geography from the University of Edinburgh, an MS in Water Resources Engineering from Cornell University, and a PhD in Geography from the University of Cambridge.

He became President of CPRE Norfolk in May 2000 and served in that role for over 24 years before retirement.
