CPRE Norfolk Trustee Kevin Jones recently visited Quaker Wood near Diss, where he met up with Richard Pither, one of the dedicated volunteers whose hard work has helped create one of the area’s valued community woodlands.

The visit provided an opportunity to congratulate Richard following their recent CPRE Norfolk Countryside Champion Award, presented in recognition of their outstanding commitment to protecting and enhancing the local environment.

The award celebrates the group’s many years of dedication managing Quaker Wood as a welcoming space for wildlife, education and quiet enjoyment by the local community.

Kevin Jones said:
“It was a pleasure to visit Quaker Wood and see first-hand the incredible work carried out by the volunteers of the Diss Community Woodland Project. Their enthusiasm and commitment are evident throughout the woodland, and the CPRE Norfolk award is thoroughly deserved.

“Displaying the certificate at the entrance is a wonderful way to recognise everyone who has contributed over the years.”
