CPRE Norfolk is pleased to announce that Pallavi Devulapalli will be joining the organisation as a trustee in April. At the time of her appointment she will also become the chair of CPRE’s newly established West Norfolk group.

Commenting on these developments Chris Dady, Chair of CPRE Norfolk said:

“I am delighted that Pallavi has agreed to become a trustee of our organisation, and also to chair our West Norfolk group. Pallavi has lived and worked as a GP and hospital doctor in West Norfolk for over 15 years. She is a Parish Councillor and has been actively involved with a number of local groups that focus on rural and environmental issues and projects and will bring a range of valuable skills and experience to the organisation.

“CPRE has long been active in West Norfolk, for example in challenging planning applications for unsuitable developments and promoting environmentally friendly initiatives. However, the area now faces a range of very significant issues, for example the decline in rural services, increasing vulnerability to rising sea levels and flooding as climate change starts to bite, and how best to promote the rewilding of parts of the Fens. Therefore, we felt the time was right to establish a West Norfolk group to help us work more closely with other organisations, including neighbouring CPRE branches, charities, community groups, and parish, borough and county councils in tackling these challenges.

“Following Pallavi’s appointment, we will be recruiting a part-time Project Officer to support her in the establishment of the new group. We are also looking for volunteers and new members to join the group to help us raise awareness of the challenges facing the countryside and contribute towards finding solutions.”
