Two Norfolk trustees recognised in 2024 Trustee Awards
We are hugely proud that our Treasurer, George Ridgway & former President, Prof Tim O’Riordan are amongst the trustees being celebrated by our national office during Trustees’ Week.
George and Tim both received Special Trustee Awards in recognition for their invaluable contributions to CPRE Norfolk over many years.
We are hugely thankful and reliant on all our trustees to be able to carry out our vital work protecting our countryside for future generations and are delighted that two of our trustees received recognition from our national office.
George Ridgway
George was recognised for his invaluable contributions to CPRE Norfolk over many years.
‘George has been an absolute treasure for CPRE Norfolk for a number of years, not only being absolutely diligent in maintenance of our accounts, as well as our governance, but also in his contributions towards campaigns and other work. He (and his wife) are regular volunteers at events. George immediately came forward to take on the role of Regional Treasurer after the departure of the last incumbent of that role, and steered us capably through the restructure of the regional groups, finalising the accounts to the satisfaction of all.’
Professor Tim O’Riordan
Tim was nominated for his unwavering dedication and leadership as President of CPRE Norfolk for 24 years.
‘Professor Tim O’Riordan has been nominated for a Special Trustee Award in appreciation of his dedication and leadership as President of CPRE Norfolk. We are deeply grateful in your retirement as President for your 24 years of service and lasting contributions.
Tim joined CPRE Norfolk as president in 2000, following a 30-year career in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia, where he taught Environmental Politics and Countryside Management to over 75 students per class every year.
We give thanks for your tireless efforts and vision which have profoundly impacted our countryside, and supported CPRE Norfolk to protect, enhance and appreciate rurality and rural living.’
