CPRE Norfolk trustees Sandra Walmsley and Pallavi Devulapalli visited Marham Village Pre-school on Monday 16th January 2023 to present a cheque for £2000. This funding will help rewild the school’s front garden, creating an active learning space and wildlife haven.

The donation from JJM Fund was made to CPRE Norfolk by the charity, The Talent Fund. The revitalised outside space will enhance the children’s learning of the world around them and encourage wildlife and biodiversity.

The Pre-school is already teaching their children the importance of growing vegetables and nurturing nature, so this garden will be a very welcome addition.

Trustee Dr Pallavi Devulapalli said,
“Sandra and I were delighted to visit the school and listen to the ideas and plans the staff have for the grant money. These include putting a fence around the garden so the children can access the space safely and building a shed with a natural ‘living roof’. It is clear that they are enthusiastic about the project, and we couldn’t be more happy to be able to facilitate this work”.

Julie Walkey, manager of Marham Village Pre-school said
We would like to thank Pallavi, Sandra and CPRE Norfolk. The £2000 will make a massive difference to us at the Pre-school and we can’t wait to get started. It will be great to get the front garden looking nice this year as it will be our 50th anniversary“.
