Community action – Standing together for Norfolk’s countryside
Standing together for Norfolk’s countryside.
Across Norfolk, communities are coming together to protect their landscapes, farmland and villages from the industrialisation of mega solar.
Local action groups have become a vital part of this movement, gathering evidence, engaging planners and sharing the lived experience of those directly affected.
The Norfolk Alliance
CPRE Norfolk helped establish the Norfolk Alliance, a network linking local campaign groups, parish councils, landowners and residents who share one goal: renewables done well.
By coordinating efforts, the Alliance ensures that Norfolk’s voice is heard in planning consultations and national discussions.
Local groups include
- Block East Pye Solar Group (South Norfolk)
- Stop Tasway Solar Action Group
- High Grove Opposition Group
- Droves Solar Awareness Group
Each group brings local insight, documenting how proposals would affect their area, from wildlife and farmland to footpaths and village life.
